Diablo review – Scott Adkins enters Cormac McCarthy territory in over-the-border revenge thriller

Its deranged antagonist might be an Anton Chigurh rip-off, but some fantastically flailing fight scenes almost lift this otherwise humdrum action romp No Country for Old Men’s Anton Chigurh was the scariest thing to come out of Latin America since Argentinian inflation. So it’s taken a surprisingly long time to see a direct imitator: the dark-clad avenger El Corvo, played here by Marko Zaror. Not only does he have the gauche coiffuring (bald on top this time), but also the philosophical penchant, asking imminent victims if they’ve given themselves a present recently. If the Cormac McCarthy rip-off wasn’t enough, Ernesto Díaz Espinoza’s ponderous thriller also gives El Corvo a couple of scenes lifted from The Terminator, and the villain from Enter the Dragon’s blade-hand for good measure. Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan starrer 1995 cult film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge will reportedly open Saudi Arabia’s upcoming Red Sea International Film Festival in the port city of Jeddah. According to Deadline, the feature – which was produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Aditya Chopra – will open the program for the event’s new open-air Red Sea Corniche venue, which will host free screenings and concerts across the 10 days of the festival. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) follows the story of Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) and Simran (Kajol) who meet during a trip across Europe and fall in love. On the first anniversary of the release of Satyameva Jayate 2 , director Milap Zaveri took to social media to pen a heartfelt note, where he expressed gratitude towards the entire team including the lead cast John Abraham, Divya Khosla Kumar, and others for supporting him during the time of pandemic. In the same breath, the director maintained that he took full responsibility of the failure of the film at the box office and also opened up about the lessons he learnt post the experience. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s ambitious feature-film based on the Mahabharat will get its screenplay from the film  Mahabharat that his father A. G. Nadiadwala had produced in 1965. Confirming this, Firoz says, “Writing the  Mahabharat  for the screen has always been the biggest problem. This is why so few films on the  Mahabharat  have been attempted. I have my father’s film on the Mahabharat with the most brilliant and comprehensive script based on the sacred saga. Actress Richa Chadha has been embroiled in a social media controversy following her ‘Galwan tweet’, which now stands deleted. It all started with the Northern Army Commander Lt.
