She’s acting royalty – literally, having played Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown – but what questions would you ask her? It is perhaps fitting that Imelda Staunton ended up playing Queen Elizabeth II in the last two series of The Crown, considering she has been acting royalty for years. Her film career has seen her voice champion egg-layer Bunty in 2000’s Chicken Run, followed by roles in Mike Leigh’s 2004 drama Vera Drake and the 2005 comedy Nanny McPhee. In 2014, she played the formidable Welsh miners’ strike campaigner Hefina in Pride . She also plays Lady Maud Bagshaw in the first two Downton Abbey films, and voices Paddington’s beloved Aunt Lucy in all three Paddington films. For a whole generation, however, she will always be Dolores Umbridge in two of the later Harry Potter films, where she somehow made a pink cardigan almost as frightening as Voldemort. Subhash Ghai to share interesting stories from songs of his films on Indian Idol

This Saturday, the top 12 singers from the 13th season of Sony TV’s Indian Idol will be performing with the cute little kids from Superstar Singer 2 in the Bachpan Special episode. The list of little contestants includes Pranjal Biswas, Rohan Das, Sayisha Gupta, Mohd. Faiz, Mani, Rituraj and Samaira Mahajan.

The current season of Indian Idol is judged by well-known musical personalities Vishal Dadlani, Himesh Reshammiya and Neha Kakkar.

On what can the audience expect from the episode, an official statement from the makers said, “Viewers will witness some extraordinary singing talent mixed with lots of dhamaal and masti. Mohali ki miss universe, Sayisha Gupta and judge Vishal Dadlani will be seen grooving on the song ‘Nacho Nacho’ from the blockbuster film RRR. The little prankster, Rituraj will be seen getting pranked by this Indian Idol contestant leaving everyone in splits. Making Mausam Musicana, everyone’s favorite Rishi Singh and Superstar Singer 2 winner Mohd. Faiz will be seen delivering a jaw-dropping and historic performance.”

That’s not all. The Sunday episode of Indian Idol will see the show celebrating the veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts and also the fact that it’s the first production house listed on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). He will also be sharing anecdotes from some of the famous songs from his films.
