Streaming: Steven Soderbergh’s Presence and the best haunted house films

The director’s witty supernatural thriller joins Psycho, Hereditary, The Brutalist and more – films in which buildings are characters in their own right The first more-or-less horror movie in the lengthy, genre-skimming career of director Steven Soderbergh , Presence is a film about grief, trauma, familial dysfunction and abusive masculinity. Previously, several Indian celebrities, such as Rashmika Mandanna, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Sachin Tendulkar, have been targeted by deepfake technology.

Vidya was most recently seen in the romantic comedy Do Aur Do Pyaar, which also starred Pratik Gandhi. Directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta, the film featured Ileana D'Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy. It explored modern relationships, focusing on a couple on the verge of breaking up who become involved with two outsiders.

As they prepare to reveal their secrets and part ways, life takes an unexpected turn. While the film received positive reviews, it struggled at the box office, earning just ₹5.5 crore worldwide. Vidya also appeared in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, alongside Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri. Released during Diwali last year, the film was a box-office hit.
