‘People didn’t like women in space’: how Sally Ride made history and paid the price

Ride was the first US woman in space – but a National Geographic documentary looks at how she was forced to hide her queerness to succeed A week before Sally – a documentary about the first American woman to fly into space – landed at the Sundance film festival in January, Nasa employees received emails informing them how Donald Trump’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) rollbacks would take effect. Contracts and offices associated with DEI programs were to be terminated. Salman Khan’s Sikandar leaked online hours before release, fans disappointed

With anticipation running high for Salman Khan’s Sikandar, the film’s online leak has disappointed many. Just hours before its release, the AR Murugadoss-directed action thriller surfaced on piracy sites. Infamous platforms like Tamilrockers, Movierulz, Filmyzilla, and various Telegram groups have made the full movie available for illegal download and streaming.

Despite strict anti-piracy laws and ongoing crackdowns, piracy remains a major concern for Bollywood. In Sikandar's case, the leak likely stemmed from camcorder recordings in theatres, which were quickly enhanced to HD quality and uploaded within hours.

Meanwhile, celebrations are in full swing for Salman Khan’s Eid release, with fans lining up in large numbers outside theatres to experience the film on the big screen. Videos from around the world captured fans celebrating Sikandar's release—dancing inside theatres, cutting cakes, and cheering for ‘Bhaijaan’ Salman Khan – are doing the rounds.

Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, Sikandar features a powerhouse ensemble, including Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi, alongside Salman Khan.

With its grand scale and star-studded cast, Sikandar aims to have a good journey at the box office. Salman’s last release was Tiger 3, which had released in 2023. The film was a part of the Yash Raj Film’s spy universe.
