Our Fault review – ultra-glossy Spanish step-sibling melodrama is too bland to be annoying

Third film adapted from the romance novels by Mercedes Ron, originally written in Spanish, feels clunky and cliched This is the third film in a series, after My Fault in 2023 and Your Fault in 2024 , that have been adapted from the Culpable trilogy, romance novels by Mercedes Ron, originally written in Spanish. It’s obviously aimed at a specific market that expects a certain blend of melodrama, softcore sex and lush lifestyle porn, and (more importantly) is invested already in the trilogy’s story. Given those parameters, it probably delivers – although the dialogue, at least judging by the subtitles, is super clunky and cliched. Complete outsiders coming to this cold may be a little baffled by what’s going on, since this concluding instalment makes no effort to fill in any blanks. Parliament to host special screening of Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava with PM Narendra Modi; Amit Shah, and other top ministers to attend

In a historic event, the Indian Parliament will host a special screening of the epic period drama Chhaava on Thursday, March 27, 2025. The screening will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, several Union Ministers, and Members of Parliament. The film’s lead actor, Vicky Kaushal, along with producer Dinesh Vijan and director Laxman Utekar, are also expected to be present. The screening is set to take place at the Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament Library Building, highlighting the film’s significance in depicting an important chapter of Indian history.

Honouring Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Chhaava tells the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant son of the legendary Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film portrays the courage, sacrifices, and leadership of the Maratha warrior against the Mughal Empire. Vicky Kaushal’s powerful performance in the titular role has been widely praised.

Box Office Triumph and Audience Acclaim Since its theatrical release on February 14, 2025, Chhaava has emerged as a massive box office success. The film has grossed approximately Rs. 583.25 crore in India and nearly Rs. 785.50 crore worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time. Audiences and critics alike have lauded Chhaava for its gripping storytelling, grand visuals, and emotional depth. Viewers have particularly appreciated its historical accuracy and the compelling portrayal of Maratha valour.

A Milestone Screening in Parliament The special screening in Parliament underscores the film’s cultural and historical impact. It is rare for a commercial film to receive such an honour, and Chhaava’s inclusion in this exclusive event reflects its importance beyond the box office. The presence of top political leaders and lawmakers further highlights the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and the relevance of his story in contemporary times.

As Chhaava continues to inspire audiences across the country, its screening in Parliament marks another proud moment for Indian cinema, showcasing how history and storytelling can unite the nation in admiration and respect.
