Zendaya and Robert Pattinson’s dark dramedy is a stylish acting showcase, but does it do justice to its weighty themes? The auteur production powerhouse A24 somewhat ingeniously pitched writer-director Kristoffer Borgli’s pitch-black film as a tart romantic comedy, with Zendaya and Robert Pattinson as a seemingly happy couple derailed by a disturbing revelation a week before their wedding. The actors, among a cohort of vanishingly few young movie stars, appeared as their characters in a fake wedding announcement in the Boston Globe; Zendaya’s rumored marriage to actor Tom Holland became a meta discussion point on a press tour that saw her method dressing in “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”, her wardrobe slowly darkening in a nod to something gone horribly awry. BREAKING: Andaz Apna Apna to re-release in cinemas on April 25; to CLASH with Ground Zero

The news of the re-release of Andaz Apna Apna (1994) led to a lot of excitement for the viewers. The film has an enviable fan following and moreover, the presence of superstars Salman Khan and Aamir Khan has added to the excitement of watching them again on the big screen, that too in comic roles. During the 30th anniversary of the film in November 2024, the family of the late producer Vinay Sinha announced the plan to re-release in the summer of 2025. And now, it has come to light that the film is all set to arrive on the big screen next month, that is, April 25.

While talking to The Times of India, the children of Vinay Sinha, that is, Namrata, Priti Sinha and Amod Sinha, unveiled the release date. They also excitedly reacted to the recent statements of Salman Khan and Aamir Khan on Andaz Apna Apna sequel. They said, “Recently, Aamir bhai mentioned that Salman sir and he are keen on doing the Andaz Apna Apna sequel. We are thrilled that they both are excited and in light of this, we will start talks with them right after the re-release of Andaz Apna Apna on April 25.”

They also added, “Talks with Rajkumar Santoshi ji have been ongoing for years. It also includes (those) during our father producer Vinay Kumar Sinha’s lifetime. However, nothing concrete has been finalized with him till now. We will make an official announcement as soon as discussions with the actors and director are complete and a strong script is locked.”

Andaz Apna Apna also starred Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor and others. The re-release trailer will arrive tomorrow, April 1.

With Andaz Apna Apna set for release on April 25, it’ll thus clash with Emraan Hashmi’s intense action thriller, Ground Zero. It is backed by Excel Entertainment.

Another significant release on the same day is Ne Zha 2. The Chinese film has broken all records and has collected $2 billion in the home market alone. Since it has done well even in non-Chinese territories overseas, there’s some hope from its India release as well.
