The Invite review – A-list ensemble electrify hilarious couples night gone wrong comedy

Sundance film festival: Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogen, Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton are exceptional in a smart and funny winner about sex, marriage and partner-swapping Not enough people managed to see last year’s self-billed “unromantic comedy” Splitsville , a shame for how tremendously entertaining it was and for what it represents at this given moment. A rigorously well-directed, genuinely funny, relatably messy look at two couples dealing with the maelstrom of non-monogamy, it was the kind of smart, well-crafted film for adults we are constantly complaining we don’t get enough of. I had a similar thrill watching The Invite at its sold-out Sundance premiere on Saturday night. Like that film, it is also about two adult couples negotiating anxieties surrounding sex with other people – and also like that film, it’s really, consistently funny and stylishly directed, made with the kind of care and rigidity that comedies just aren’t afforded now. On Friday (February 7), Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted virtually with prominent figures from the entertainment and business sectors as part of the WAVE Summit. The meeting included Bollywood icons like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Diljit Dosanjh, as well as global business leaders such as Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani. The discussion focused on India’s potential to become a global hub for creativity and content creation.

The WAVES Summit, short for World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit, aims to bring together professionals from the media, entertainment, and creative industries. During the 117th episode of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi stated, “This summit is an important step towards making India a hub of global content creation.” The event, scheduled for December 2024, will showcase India’s creative talent on a global stage. WAVES’ Advisory Board The Advisory Board of the WAVES Summit comprises some of the biggest names in entertainment and business. Alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Diljit Dosanjh, the meeting featured Rajinikanth, Ranbir Kapoor, Chiranjeevi, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, and AR Rahman. Business leaders like Anand Mahindra and Satya Nadella also participated, offering insights on how to elevate India’s creative economy.

WAVES Summit: A Platform for Creative Growth Launched on September 8, 2024, the WAVES Summit has already garnered significant attention for its focus on storytelling and technological innovation. The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has partnered with Dancing Atoms for the Animation Filmmakers Competition, a flagship event under the summit. This collaboration marks a historic step in fostering creativity and innovation in India’s entertainment industry.
