Karan Johar is known for his candour, and in a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the filmmaker once again shared some hard-hitting insights - this time on the current state of storytelling in the Hindi film industry. From genre fatigue to the obsession with cinematic universes, Johar didn’t hold back in expressing his views on why originality should be celebrated, not sidelined. “I think it's everybody grappling to do what others are doing. I think herd mentality. So, we see Pushpa running and catering so strongly to the tier two and tier three audiences. Suddenly there'll be 20 others wanting to do the same. You see Chhaava working, and everybody will want to make historical dramas! After Stree, everybody wants to make horror comedies. Those worked because they were individually strong, and there was no other option in that genre. And it was a unique thought that made those films work. Shaheer Sheikh rescues 16-month-old daughter, wheelchair-bound father-in-law and wife Ruchikaa Kapoor after fire breaks out in Andheri building

Last to last night was tough for the family of popular TV actor Shaheer Sheikh. For the unversed, on January 25, 2023, a massive fire broke out in the actor's building. Shaheer Sheikh's wife Ruchika Kapoor took to her verified social media handle and shared the details of the horrific incident. On a long note, Kapoor stated that she was at home with her 16-month-old daughter and parents and at around 1.30 am, she got a call that their building was on fire. However, after a lot of effort, the whole family was evacuated safely. Ruchikaa Kapoor thanked the firefighters and explained the incident in detail. She said that her father is wheelchair-bound while her daughter Anaya is just 16 months old. Given this, it was very difficult to get down the stairs from her 15th-floor apartment. Ruchikaa further added that Shaheer Sheikh and his brother-in-law along with firefighters came to rescue her. After a lot of effort, the whole family was evacuated till 5 in the morning. Last night when the fire had spread across a building in Andheri West Shastri Nagar, Mumbai, the fire fighters reached in time and ensured that the fire came under control and helped evacuate people from the building. The Portable Door review – Harry Potter-ish YA fantasy carried by hardworking cast

Jeffrey Walker’s adaptation of the young-adult fantasy novel retains its edge thanks to its performances, but gets stuck on the whole door thing Adapted from Tom Holt’s 2003 young-adult fantasy novel, this is a passable attempt at kickstarting a new Harry Potter-style franchise set in a fusty-quirky institution, dosed up with extra Gilliamesque grotesquery. Co-produced by the Jim Henson Company, the production design is poky and intense, and the cast – with Christoph Waltz and Sam Neill larking it up – give it their all. But amid all this clutter, it sometimes has trouble moving its story forward.
