Animol review – gritty young offenders drama challenges conventional machismo

Institutional menace and an idealistic take on redemption sit side-by-side in Top Boy actor Ashley Walters’ empathic and occasionally over-earnest film The lawless brutality of a young offender institution is the setting for this British movie written by Marching Powder ’s Nick Love and directed by Ashley Walters. It’s a place where terrified newbies realise they can survive only by abandoning their innocence and decency, and submitting to the gang authority of a psycho top G, naturally involving a horrible loyalty test. This is a place where drugs arrive by drone, where facially tattooed men meet each other’s gaze with a cool opaque challenge in the canteen, and where the cues and balls on the recreation area’s pool table have only one purpose: to give someone a three-month stay in the hospital wing while underpaid guards in lanyards and ill-fitting v-neck jumpers look the other way. Bigg Boss 16: Shalin Bhanot dances, sings, and shows his happiness after the eviction of Tina Datta

Ever since its inception, Shalin Bhanot and Tina Datta have been garnering attention owing to the multiple phases of their relationship, which has transitioned from hatred to friendship to love to hatred again. While audiences were left confused about their feelings about each other, all the drama of their love-hate has now come to an end with the Uttaran actress being evicted from the reality show. On the other hand, considering the current scenario of relationship between Shalin and Tina, the Grihasti actor couldn’t be happier about her elimination and didn’t leave any chance to showcase the same on camera. In a video that has been doing the rounds, Shalin Bhanot is seen speaking about how the elimination of Tina Datta has made him feel so much better about his health with his ‘mandali’ Shiv Thakare and MC Stan. The actor is seen dancing, singing, and thoroughly enjoying himself after Tina left the show. This did not go down well with Archana Gautam who also expressed her anger on Bhanot over his behavior to Priyanka Chahar Choudhary. While having a conversation with Tina’s friend Priyanka in the kitchen, Archana accused Shalin of ruining the reputation of two women, namely Soundarya Sharma and Tina, yet, feeling all the happiness instead of any guilt. BREAKING: Interstellar back in cinemas due to public demand; Dune: Part Two to also re-release on March 14 in IMAX

A lot of Bollywood films have re-released off late but when it comes to Hollywood, a handful of classics have had a re-run in cinemas. Last month, Interstellar re-released and received a rocking response. However, it just had a one-week run. If you missed watching the cult film in cinemas, here’s a reason for you to rejoice. The film will be back on the big screen on March 14, that too in IMAX. Moreover, Warner Bros will also bring back Dune: Part Two on the same day in theatres. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Interstellar has a huge demand as it’s a film worth watching in theatres, that too IMAX. However, it re-released on February 7 and had to discontinued from February 14 to accommodate the new releases, Chhaava and Captain America: Brand New World.
