Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 review – inept game-based horror is one of the year’s worst

The box office smash of Halloween 2023 gets a shoddily made follow-up written carelessly and devoid of an actual ending The ghost-possessed family-restaurant animatronics of the Five Nights at Freddy ’s movies lumber around with such heavy-footed gaucherie that it’s hard to figure out how they’re physically able to move from place to place as quickly as they’d need to for a proper killing spree. In what could be mistaken for a case of form following function, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 moves the exact same way. It’s so ostentatiously awkward that it constantly draws attention to its inept imitations of actions that other movies, even bad ones, intuitively understand – like making transitions between scenes or locations. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 mania continues on digital streaming platform. The blockbuster started streaming on Netflix from June 19, 2022 and has been available to fans around the world in over 190 countries. Directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, and Krishan Kumar, this entertaining horror comedy stars Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, Kiara Advani in lead roles.

After roaring at the box office with Rs. 183.24 crore collections, the film is also seeing immense interest on Netflix. In the few days since it dropped on Netflix, the film has managed to grab the No. 2 spot in India on the streaming giant. The horror-comedy has continued to reign at the box office and taken over the OTT platform too.

In the few days since it dropped on Netflix, the film is the Non-English content on the streaming giant which has garnered 4.12 million watch hour viewership (June 12-June 19), globally. It is spending its first week at Top 5 on the platform.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Anjum Khetani, Krishan Kumar, the film is helmed by Anees Bazmee.
