Three hours later, it had become Judi Dench’s head, 50% larger than usual, twinkle-eyed even in terracotta. At Claridge’s hotel in London on Monday evening, Frances Segelman hosted her latest ticking-clock sculpt: paying guests watch as she kneads a celebrity bust on stage, the subject sitting quietly beside her. In the past, Segelman has done Simon Rattle, Joan Collins, Joanna Lumley, Boris Johnson, Mr Motivator and major-league royals, almost always for charity. The image of the Brazilian supermodel was complemented by jewelry: a diamond necklace and a ring with a large precious stone. The former Victoria's Secret Angel's hair was curled into a light wave, and her face was bright makeup with "Egyptian" arrows. In addition to Alessandra Ambrosio, at the premiere of the film "Three Thousand Years of Wishes" in Cannes, actors Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba, who played the main roles in the film, Cara Delevingne's sister Poppy, Norwegian model Frida Aasen, and producer Murad Osmann with his wife Natalie were also seen. On the eve of Cannes presented the film "Top Gun: Maverick" with Tom Cruise in the title role. The premiere was attended by pregnant supermodel Adriana Lima with boyfriend Andre Lemmers and Princess Diana's nieces, Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia Spencer.

The Portable Door review – Harry Potter-ish YA fantasy carried by hardworking cast

Jeffrey Walker’s adaptation of the young-adult fantasy novel retains its edge thanks to its performances, but gets stuck on the whole door thing Adapted from Tom Holt’s 2003 young-adult fantasy novel, this is a passable attempt at kickstarting a new Harry Potter-style franchise set in a fusty-quirky institution, dosed up with extra Gilliamesque grotesquery. Co-produced by the Jim Henson Company, the production design is poky and intense, and the cast – with Christoph Waltz and Sam Neill larking it up – give it their all. But amid all this clutter, it sometimes has trouble moving its story forward. The Portable Door has a nice conceit: the venerable London corporation of JW Wells & Co is responsible for engineering all the daily incidents of coincidence and serendipity that happen in urban life.
