Frankie Freako review – cheap and cheesy comedy horror channels 80s schlock

Ineffectual office worker Conor calls on the services of a gremlin that looks like someone dipped a Muppet in latex, covered it in caustic soda, and ran a car over it a few times Canadian writer-director Steven Kostanski has been one of the creative forces behind a bunch of silly-sweet horror pictures such as The Void and PG: Psycho Goreman that appear to skew towards a younger demographic. Or perhaps his target audience is really the gen X crowd that never outgrew its affection for 1980s fare such as Critters or Gremlins, cheap and cheesy schlock reliant on practical special effects. Luckily, the latter happens to be Kostanski’s speciality; he’s also worked as a prosthetic FX artist on bigger budget films such as Crimson Peak and the TV series Hannibal. All of that comes together for this daft comedy horror farrago, seemingly set in the 80s, about a nebbishy Canadian office worker called Conor (Conor Sweeney). Conor’s beige jumper alone bespeaks a man deeply risk averse and afraid...

Amber Heard spoke about the persecution and threats due to the trial with Johnny Depp

Amber Heard said that she was persecuted and humiliated because of the trial with Johnny Depp. Actress and model Amber Heard spoke about the bullying and threats she faced because of the trial with her ex-husband Johnny Depp. The Wrap reports it. The artist said that she was constantly harassed and humiliated. "People want to kill me and tell me about it every day," she said. According to Heard, her child was threatened to be put in a microwave oven, and Depp promised that if she left him, he would make her remember him "every day of her life." "It may be easy to forget, but I am human. And although Johnny said that I deserved it, I don't deserve it," the actress concluded. In court, Heard stated that Depp cheated on her and used physical and psychological violence. Her sister Whitney Henriquez recalled that there were always fights between the stars when the actor was drinking or using drugs. At first, Amber was Amber: she was loud, funny, funny, very funny, very happy, bright, funny, and loving. The changes took a long time. It was like watching a slow-motion shot. According to Enriquez, the stars were initially "incredibly in love," but whenever Depp took drugs, a fight broke out between them. The woman claims that the artist beat her and his wife. She says Amber Heard has changed a lot because of her husband's control. In addition, Heard's sister revealed that she spent the night at the couple's penthouse in 2015. They had another quarrel, during which Depp first hit his nurse and threw a can of energy at her and then hit Enriquez in the back. Later, he began to pull Heard by the hair and beat her in the face, calling his wife and her sister whores. Enriquez claims that after the incident, Depp left a non-disclosure agreement on her desk, which she did not sign.
