After earning acclaim for his performance in Dhadak 2, Siddhant Chaturvedi seemed set to continue his momentum with Ramree, a two-hero OTT project backed by Ajay Devgn. However, the ambitious period drama has now reportedly been shelved before going on floors. According to a report by Mid-Day, Ramree was conceived as a large-scale film set in 1945. The project, which had been under development for over a year, aimed to blend historical events with cinematic storytelling. However, given its elaborate setting and production requirements, the film’s mounting budget became a major hurdle. A source close to the development told the publication, “For an OTT film, this would have set a benchmark in scale and imagination, but budget constraints caught up with it. Even though the platform heads were excited about the story, there was too much at stake financially. Kangana Ranaut's Emergency postponed again due to Lok Sabha elections

The release of Kangana Ranaut's political drama Emergency has been postponed once again. The makers of the film issued a statement on Wednesday, announcing that the film will not hit theatres on June 14, 2024, as originally planned. This decision comes as Kangana Ranaut is currently deeply involved in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, where she is contesting from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

In the statement, the team behind Emergency expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received for Kangana Ranaut, affectionately referred to as the "queen" by her fans. They emphasized her commitment to serving the nation and fulfilling her responsibilities as a political candidate, which has led to the postponement of the film's release.

“Our hearts are filled with love pouring in for our queen Kangana Ranaut. As she prioritizes her duty to the nation and her commitment to serve the country, the release date of our much-awaited film ‘Emergency’ has been postponed. We promise to update you soon with a new release date. Thank you for your continued support,” the statement by team Emergency read.

Emergency promises to delve into significant political events. The film is expected to explore the tumultuous period of India's history during the Emergency era, which lasted from 1975 to 1977.

This is not the first time Emergency has faced delays. The film, directed by Kangana Ranaut herself, has seen its release date pushed back on several occasions. The film also stars Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhary, Shreyas Talpade, and Anupam Kher.
