Karan Johar is known for his candour, and in a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the filmmaker once again shared some hard-hitting insights - this time on the current state of storytelling in the Hindi film industry. From genre fatigue to the obsession with cinematic universes, Johar didn’t hold back in expressing his views on why originality should be celebrated, not sidelined. “I think it's everybody grappling to do what others are doing. I think herd mentality. So, we see Pushpa running and catering so strongly to the tier two and tier three audiences. Suddenly there'll be 20 others wanting to do the same. You see Chhaava working, and everybody will want to make historical dramas! After Stree, everybody wants to make horror comedies. Those worked because they were individually strong, and there was no other option in that genre. And it was a unique thought that made those films work. Halsey responds to critics' accusations about her 'unhealthy' appearance. The 'Nightmare' creator had enough critical comments on social media to share a TikTok video to defend herself, just days after she informed fans of her failing health. Halsey, 27, has reacted strongly to some of the harsh comments about her health. The singer, who recently opened up to her fans about multiple medical diagnoses, shared a video on TikTok on May 18 addressing the critical messages circulating on social media. In the footage, Halsey looked into the distance as some of the comments appeared on the screen. Halsey played the music video for "I Already Know" by Walworth & Howell. The new parent snapped at the critics in their caption, writing: Halsey's response comes days after she told fans that she had been diagnosed with four different syndromes, including Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren's syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome, and postural orthostatic tachycardia, after battling anaphylaxis. Halsey also previously suffered from bipolar disorder and ADHD. The singer has been very open about her battle with endometriosis, which has affected her fertility and led to three miscarriages. Halsey had to undergo several surgeries due to endometriosis, and at some point, the singer, and performer of the hit "Without Me" did not think that she and her partner could have children at all. Luckily, in 2020, Halsey was able to conceive her first child with her boyfriend, director Alev Aidin. The couple's son Ender Ridley Aidin was born in July 2021.

The Portable Door review – Harry Potter-ish YA fantasy carried by hardworking cast

Jeffrey Walker’s adaptation of the young-adult fantasy novel retains its edge thanks to its performances, but gets stuck on the whole door thing Adapted from Tom Holt’s 2003 young-adult fantasy novel, this is a passable attempt at kickstarting a new Harry Potter-style franchise set in a fusty-quirky institution, dosed up with extra Gilliamesque grotesquery. Co-produced by the Jim Henson Company, the production design is poky and intense, and the cast – with Christoph Waltz and Sam Neill larking it up – give it their all. But amid all this clutter, it sometimes has trouble moving its story forward.
