Ben Affleck and Matt Damon to make a film about Nike history

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are working on a film about the sports brand Nike and its former CEO Sonny Vaccarro. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ben and Matt will not only write the script together but will also star and co-produce, with Affleck also taking on directing duties. The story focuses on Vaccaro's tireless struggle to sign Jordan with a third-place shoe company, a journey that will take him to Jordan's parents, and especially his powerful, dynamic mother, as well as former coaches. , Took to advisers and friends. . Jordan will be a legendary figure looming over the film and never seen it until Vaccaro attempts to come out to himself and the people around him. Matt will play Sunny Vaccarro, and Ben will play company co-founder Phil Knight in "the story of Nike's promising attempt to sign rising superstar basketball player Michael Jordan to their shoe company in the mid-eighties, which seemed impossible at the time." The deal launched the multi-billion global dollar modern sneaker industry and also played a major role in the development of modern sports. The plot will focus on Vaccarro's relentless quest to sign the future best basketball player in the world, which led him to Jordan's parents and, in particular, to his powerful, energetic mother, as well as to former coaches' advisers, and friends. Michael himself does not appear in the film, despite the fact that Vaccarro tries to contact him, gaining access to those near and around him. The as-yet-untitled project will be produced by Amazon Studios, Skydance Sports, and Mandalay Pictures. This will be the third film Matt and Ben have collaborated on as writers. The two won an Oscar for writing Good Will Hunting in 1997. Last year, they co-wrote the screenplay for Ridley Scott's The Last Duel, where they also starred.
