SCOOP: Shahid Kapoor's pay for Ali Abbas Zafar's next film has been increased to Rs. 38 crores.

Shahid Kapoor had previously stated that he was willing to forego his acting income in order to protect Jersey for the theatrical medium, according to Bollywood Hungama. The actor has stuck to his word, and the film will be released on April 14th. The actor, who had been paid roughly Rs. 31 crores for the film, subsequently had to take a pay cut when the release was pushed back owing to the Omicron threat at the last minute. And now we have yet another insider tip.

Shahid Kapoor's acting fees have reportedly increased even again, according to our reliable trade sources. The gifted actor, who is riding high on the success of Padmaavat and Kabir Singh, is expecting great gains from Jersey as well, and has demanded 25% extra for the film that is a sequel to Jersey. "A hefty sum of Rs. 38 crores has been paid to Shahid Kapoor to join this action-packed thriller helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar. This is around 25% more than Jersey, and more than double what he got for Kabir Singh, the game changer. In reality, he is taking the approach of letting his work speak for itself," a trade source told Bollywood Hungama.

Shahid's credo, "Let labour speak for itself," has a special value for him. "Every success would entail an increase in acting income, and every failure would mean a decrease in acting fees." He's devised a dynamic pricing plan, and at this point, he's optimistic that both Jersey and Ali Abbas Zafar's next will bring in huge bucks at the box office. If the film is a success, his asking price for the next one will go up even more," the person said.

He and Ashwin Varde are currently negotiating the Chhattrapati Shivaji Maharaj biopic, which is likely to move forward to the official paperwork stage soon.
