Corporate (2006) completed 20 years on July 7 and it’s a film that Madhur Bhandarkar considers his favourite. Starring Bipasha Basu, Kay Kay Menon, Raj Babbar and Rajat Kapoor, the film was loved for its subject, shocking climax, performances, music, etc. Despite dealing with the complex worlds of corporate business and the stock market, the narrative was easy to understand, an aspect that was widely praised by audiences and critics alike. Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films LLP, has issued a public notice in the July 4, 2026 issue of Complete Cinema magazine, asserting that it is the sole and exclusive holder of the rights to produce and commercially exploit the much-awaited comedy, Hera Pheri 3. The notice has been addressed to the public at large as well as stakeholders across the Indian film trade. The notice specifically addresses distributors, exhibitors, cinema chains, OTT and streaming platforms, television broadcasters, digital platforms, advertisers, licensors, licensees, aggregators and syndicators, among others. Preity Zinta approaches Bombay High Court to take down AI deepfake content; next hearing scheduled on July 6

Actor Preity Zinta has approached the Bombay High Court seeking the removal of AI-generated deepfake videos, morphed images and other unauthorised content featuring her from social media and online platforms. The actress has also sought an injunction to prevent the publication and circulation of such content in the future. The matter came up for hearing before a single bench of Justice Madhav Jamdar on Friday. After hearing preliminary submissions, the court directed the parties, including the online platforms concerned, to work out a mechanism for taking down the allegedly offending material. The matter has now been listed for further hearing on July 6. Actor Chandrachur Singh has found himself in the spotlight after a video of him interacting with officials during Gurugram's ongoing anti-encroachment drive surfaced on social media. Delhi High Court restrains Ilaiyaraaja from streaming songs from 134 films in copyright case filed by Saregama

In a significant development in a long-running copyright dispute, the Delhi High Court has passed an interim order in favour of music label Saregama India Ltd., restraining legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja from broadcasting or communicating songs from 134 films until further orders. The order was passed by Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, who observed that while Ilaiyaraaja continues to hold rights over his original musical compositions, those rights do not automatically extend to the sound recordings incorporated into cinematograph films. According to the court, the copyright in such sound recordings rests with the producer and, where assigned, with Saregama. As per the court's observations, Ilaiyaraaja's rights under the Copyright Act are limited to the musical work itself, which refers to the composition independent of the lyrics and the sound recording.
